FLR(M) Correspondence for application

Post by southerndb » Mon Oct 26, 2015 3:02 pm

Hi all,

I was wondering if I could have a quick bit of advice. My wife and I are visiting the premium centre to apply for our marriage visa.

I noticed on the application that we need to provide 6 pieces of correspondence to show that she lived with me.

The trouble we have is that she only has her bank account and mobile phone registered at the address. All of the household bills are currently in my name, as I never got round to transferring them (I didn't feel it was fair to put her on the account when she wasn't working...a mistake in hindsight!). Most of the letters that have come through over the past year we've thrown away (mostly junk mail from the bank). She does have her London Marathon entry confirmation letter as well.

The only joint letter we have is the council tax bills from the past year.

We do have emailed letters from the suppliers of our wedding (venue booking, cake invoice) from the last 6 months which are addressed to both of us.

Would this satisfy the requirements? Or am I worrying too much?

We will also provide photos of us from over the past year, plus ones from our wedding.

Hopefully someone will have a little advice!

Many thanks,

Scott

Is she applying for FLR(M) after being in the UK on a fiance visa?

Hi,

Sorry, I should have said that!

Yup, she's here on a fiance visa, and we'll be submitting the FLR(M) at the interview.

Cheers,

Scott

What interview is this? In person visa applications are not an interview.

Are you already married?

I don't think cohabitation documents are relevant if switching after a fiance visa (at least not for the past two years).

Hi,

It's the in person visa application. We've gone for the premium service as my wife has potentially been offered a job dependent on her visa being approved.

We got married a couple of weeks, and we're just coming to the end of the 6 month period of the fiance visa.

Cheers,

Scott

Proof of co-habitation over 2.5 years isn't required when switching from fiance to spouse. However, you will need to show that you are now living together. Have you paid the NHS surcharge of £500?

Thank goodness for that! I was really starting to panic there! I'd best get on and swap over all the bills now :)

I have the council tax bills in joint names, so hopefully that will be sufficient.

The surcharge has all been paid, and all of the other info has been collated. Fingers crossed it all goes well!

If you rent your accommodation, you should submit a copy of the tenancy agreement. If you have a mortgage, a copy of the mortgage agreement.
