Biometric Residence Permit

Post by mwhollister » Sat Oct 31, 2015 11:11 am

Hi. I have an appointment for my FLR(M) visa to be extended on November 13 and am currently weeding through the application and have arrived at Section 9: Biometric residence permit. I know that I had to send biometric information when I applied for my first visa in 2013 when I was residing in the USA. However, I did not receive a biometric residence permit - just a visa in my passport. Does anyone know if I have to get a biometric residence permit prior to my appointment on November 13 or will they do that for me there since it is the premium service. I have read the application and guidance notes countless times and am unable to find a straightforward answer so any assistance would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Biometrics will be taken on the day at the PSC.

You don't have a biometric resident permit (which is a card). You have a visa in your passport. So you tick no if you do not have a card type visa.

When/if you are approved for FLR(M), you will receive a biometric residence permit and NOT a visa stuck in your passport. Your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) will be taken on the day as part of your appointment process.
