UK Spouse visa housing report

Hi,

I am on Tier -1 general visa and i am applying for my wife's visa from India. Just wanted to know if housing report is compulsory?

i have rented a property from a private landlord and on the contract it's me and my brother-in- law who have 2 kids under 10 years.

Our property is a 3 bedroom furnished house. Please can you advise do i still need to obtain housing report ?

I would suggest you do to make your life easier. Normally you can get your council to do it, but a lot of estate agents do it. The crucial thing is that they measure the rooms are calculate the square footage, and write how many people are able to stay there based on the square footage.
