Dependent Visa

Hi there

I have a question. I hold a dependent visa on my husband's ILR visa.

Recently however, he decided to apply for citizenship, which he successfully obtained.

However, he did not initiate any new application on my dependency.

I am curious as to what happens now with my visa situation. Can I still stay dependent on his ILR visa? Or do I need a fresh application now to apply to be a dependent of his new citizenship status, or will the existing visa be fine without doing anything?

In addition, I am a bit confused about how we queue at the airport immigration counter. Am I allowed to join him in the EU / British Citizen queue, or do we need to queue separately, me in the non-EU queue and him in the other queue?

Lastly, it is worth me adding that he has not applied for a British passport (as he only holds a naturalisation paper), and holds onto his old country travel passport. I do not know if this complicates things for my questions above.

However, he did not initiate any new application on my dependency. Nothing needed

I am curious as to what happens now with my visa situation. Can I still stay dependent on his ILR visa? Or do I need a fresh application now to apply to be a dependent of his new citizenship status, or will the existing visa be fine without doing anything? Spouse visa of someone on ILR and spouse visa as spouse of British Citizen is the same visa. No need to do anything.

In addition, I am a bit confused about how we queue at the airport immigration counter. Am I allowed to join him in the EU / British Citizen queue, or do we need to queue separately, me in the non-EU queue and him in the other queue? Separately or both in the same queue. You will still be processed as a person with leave to remain. My husband and I were in the same situation and used to go to the separate queues as I had to complete a landing card. He would go through the EU one and wait for me at the ECO desks on the side I was in a queue.

Lastly, it is worth me adding that he has not applied for a British passport (as he only holds a naturalisation paper), and holds onto his old country travel passport. I do not know if this complicates things for my questions above. Makes no difference though his ILR will no longer be valid to travel and he should apply for a British passport. It has no effect on your visa status. Depending on his nationality, he needs to check if dual nationality is allowed etc.
