Good Character Checks??

Post by baaghi » Fri Dec 11, 2015 3:11 pm

Has any forum gurus have any ideas that what level of checks or system is used by UKBA to check the criminal convictions? Is it kind of DBS or enhanced DBS?

I read it in one of the caseworker guidelines once that it is an internal system where they just "press a button" and it flags anything untoward after 3 days or else it remains blank (can't find the specific doc now).

I was under the impression that it is a normal PNC check to flag any criminal convictions but then wondering how do they check any FPNs or PNDs?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

The scale & scope of checks on good character are covered in this HO guidance:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _D_v02.pdf

Not surprisingly the specific details of how this is done (eg range & granularity of datafeeds & databanks used) has been removed & is marked as Restricted.
