Spouse Visa Document Request - Delay

Hi,

My wife has applied for spouse visa (I am a British Citizen) from India and she received an email today from UKVI at British Deputy High Commission, Chennai stating that they need the current year's (2014-2015) SA302 within the next 10 calendar days (deadline 26 December 2015).

I rang the Tax Office, who said that they have stopped faxing any document two weeks ago and will send out the required SA302, which I am expected to receive only within the next 2 weeks. (Since my accountant filed my returns, he cannot access the SA302 which include the calculation section)

What is my option here, since the deadline is 26th December and UKVI's email says "If we do not receive the documents by the date noted above a decision will be made on your application."

Will I be able to request more time so that I can send the document once I receive it from the Tax Office and will they allow it? Shall my wife just send a reply to the email?

I know it is an old thread but I am in similar situation and received a document request (NARIC) and given only 10 calendar days. I replied to the email provided asking for some more time as NARIC letter takes 10 working days (as per website). Waiting for their reply.

I am just wondering what happened in your case?
Did they allow additional time or taken decision on that day?

Could you please share your experience.
