Tier 1 (General) Dependant

It would be great if someone could answer please,

I am going to submit my application for my ILR on 3 January 2016 but i have visa till 15th January 2016.
my wife joined me this year July as PBS dependant and she has visa till 15th January 2016.

After I got the ILR, I am planning to apply for extension for my wife, I found from this forum that there are 2 options.

1. PBS Tier-1 Dependent
or
2. Further Leave to remain (FLRM)

if I apply her as PBS Tier-1 dependent how long the visa I will get for the first time? 3 years or 5 years

but if I apply FLRM I would get only 2.5 years and again I'll have to apply for another 2.5 years to go for ILR ?

we are expecting a baby next year, which visa would be most suitable considering I would need to apply for extension of my new born baby as well

we are expecting a baby next year, which visa would be most suitable considering I would need to apply for extension of my new born baby as well If your baby is born in the UK AFTER you obtain ILR, the baby will be automatically British and can apply for a passport directly. It the baby is born abroad, the baby will need a visa and the visa will be issued in line with the mothers visa.

PBS Tier-1 dependant or FLRM ? FLR(M) is cheaper than PBS Dependent. Both routes require the payment of the immigration health surcharge.

really Thank your for the response,

since the PBS Tier 1 dependent visa maximum is 3 years, with the cost in mind and My wife here in UK only 6 months with PBS,
I am thinking to go for FLR(M) so my wife would loose the 6 months and ILR qualified time clock would start again.

and from your reply both requires extension so am planning to go for FLR(M)

Yes, 3 years on PBS and then would require another extension to reach 5 years for ILR.

FLR(M) is definitely the cheaper option (£649 by post or £1049 in person application + £500 per person immigration health surcharge) and given that she won't lose a lot of time, it would make sense.

Do you meet the financial requirement of £18,600pa (wife only) or £22,400 (child & Wife)?

Your baby doesn't need a visa if born in the UK after you get ILR.
