UK SPOUSE VISA 2016 checklist

Hi,

I am the sponsor for the applicant of whom will need the visa to enter the uk on a spouse visa.
She is currently from India and we will be getting engaged and have a court marriage in Feb 2016 (big wedding after a year).

I am pre filling in the visa forms so that when I come to apply in June 2016 for a december 2016 uk date, I have everything in place and can apply on the visa4uk website.

Please can someone add or remove from my current list to see if there is anything i have missed and include any further information of what may help.

List of all other documents (originals & copies)

Sponsor (BRITISH CITIZEN):

1. Sponsors letter of introduction
2. Employment letter
3. Bank statements showing monthly income (31st of every month) – Bank needs to stamp
4. Wage slips 6 months
5. Birth certificate copy
6. Passport copy
7. OCI copy
8. Cash savings statement (pdf statement)
9. Property Inspection Report
10. Parents letter to say that the spouse’s wife can live in the property
11. Photographs
a. Engagement
b. Court marriage
12. Engagement invitation cards
13. Passport photo x2
14. Proof of address
15. Flight itinerary details from Feb 2014, Oct 2014, Oct 2015 & Feb 2016
16. Proposed flight itinerary details for big wedding Oct 2016 to Dec 2016

Applicant (INDIAN RESIDENT)

3. Wage slips (6 months)
4. Birth certificate

10. English Language tests (IELTS life skills A1) Pass certificate

It would help a lot.

You cannot apply more than 3 months in advance of intended travel.

And as Wanderer has advised, the forms change, often more than once a year, and online is amended accordingly too.
