Apols, it is impossible for us to advice if we do not have a bit of information due to the varying situations in applying for various things. We offer our time for free, so this could become a very long thread with short single questions and answers trying to understand your situation.

How are you British? Are you naturalised, British by descent?

A marriage certificate is not required for a British passport unless you already have a British passport and recently got married.

I got married recently and need to change my passport. I am a British citizen

The fee leaflet is on page 27 of the guidance notes that come with the passport you collect at the post office.

If you include a special delivery envelope, all your documents should be returned in it.

It's a pain. My sister had to change hers like maybe 1 years ago and she have to pay for whole new passport just for changing name.... there is option on form first page to cross the box if you want secure return for document
