Hi jules,

My time line is:

Online application: 07/10/2015
Biometric taken: 30/10/2015
Received in shefield for a decision: 3/11/2015

I thought it was 60 days from the online application date since reading on here I discovered it's from the date of the biometric taken. So we are on 38 days that's taken out a few days of Christmas. Seems like forever.

Hi Jules and Jen

We received our email this morning as I drove into work, it says 'your UK visa application has been concluded'. I'm nervous, excited, nervous, sick - so close yet so far.............

As I was reading through emails I saw that our online application went in on 2/10/15 not the 4th, I also thought it was 60 days from online application not from when biometrics were taken.

I hope you guys get your responses quickly and will keep you posted on our outcome.

I am worried that we didn't have a phone call/ interview so in my head its a refusal.......

Good luck you guys and I will let you know what our outcome is.

Fingers crossed!

Hi Lu

No, we didn't have any interviews or requests for anything....

Email received today reads:

Dear Customer,

Your UK visa application has been concluded.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE VISA APPLICATION CENTRE BEFORE THEY CONTACT YOU.

You will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre when your documents are ready for collection, or have been dispatched via courier (if you selected this optional service).

You are reminded that you should avoid making travel plans until you have collected your passport.

If you need to contact us you can do so via our International Enquiry Service at http://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-outside-uk

Kind regards,

UK Visas and Immigration
British Embassy Abu Dhabi
http://www.gov.uk/ukvi

I see that the tracking to say "decision made" has not been updated, but we will just have to wait for the collection email now I guess. I am hoping my husband can go Sunday and pick up his passport so that we at least know. I am dreading the prospect of having to do this all again if refused.

Good luck and keep us updated

Hi Jules

Yes our wording was exactly the same and the tracking doesn't show decision made yet.

I'm so impatient, I wonder how long we Will have to wait for the appt?

Hi Ladies

Lu - I just received another email from TLS saying decision made - no update from yesterday's email but they have now updated the tracking to decision made.

I see that Cairo office is closed Sunday (lieu day for New Year) and again Thursday 7th Jan (Coptic Christmas).

I guess this is going to drag the waiting out even longer. Is your husband close to Cairo to go collect or did you ask for courier delivery? Mine is currently waiting in Luxor so will need to travel up to collect.

This waiting now is the hardest - so close, but still a waiting game!

Good luck to you and keep me posted :)

OK, now we have received passport ready for collection email... stress levels are way up there!

Just hoping that Cairo office is open tomorrow (their website doesn't say it is a public holiday so fingers crossed it is not a wasted journey - and double fingers crossed for good news).

Good luck Lu, and Jen, hope you have news soon x

Thanks Jen,

It was spouse visa (non-priority). They give you 30 days to travel on the initial visa and then you collect BRP at a local office in UK after arrival (this will give him 33 months).

They obviously granted this on 18 December as we requested so now only have 20 days left to travel. It is fine, the sooner the better really.

Hi Lu

Been looking for your update all afternoon. I'm hoping you didn't get bad news, but just to say if you did, I know how disappointing it feels - this was our 2nd application.

Message me if you want.

Best wishes,
Jules

Hi Jen

Sadly not heard from Lu. I asked my husband if he met anyone else collecting passport for a spouse application today but he didn't.

We had a rejection October 2014, and it is very hard. We just had to try again and make sure we got all the paperwork right this time (the correct originals, correctly timed and evidence of relationship).

We have not seen each other since summer due to doing all this visa stuff and my work, so looking forward to a UK holiday in a couple of weeks.

If anyone needs advice on what you need to send just let me know.

I really hope you have good news soon and I will check back on here to see. Good luck!

Very best wishes
