EEA 2 - Some questions

Post by manu_uk » Thu Jan 07, 2016 8:33 pm

Hi, I am about to send:
•My wife´s application for a registration certificate as a European Economic -Area (EEA) national who is in the UK as a qualified person.
and my
•application for a residence card as the family member of a European Economic Area (EEA) national.
known as EEA1 and EEA2 forms.

I have everything ready, however I have a couple of doubts. Maybe some of you can share experiences/suggestions:

1- I have a family permit. While requesting it I´ve got my biometric information taken.
Will I need to have it taken again?

2- can I go to the post office and register the biometric information before getting the appointment from the UKBA?

3- Can I go personally and drop the envelope to an UKBA office instead of sending it by mail? any experience doing so? is that advisable?

4- my wife has been working for just one month. We are providing -to prove that she is exercising her treaty right- only one payslip, the job contract, bank account extract showing her salary payment, and a letter from the employer.
We feel it is not much. What do you advise? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Manu_uk,

I'm not an expert but can help you a little bit.

1. if the type of application you'll make requires you to register your biometrics then yes, you'll have to do it again regardless.

2. As far as I'm aware you don't need an appointment to register your biometrics, just pop in your nearest post office that offers the services and you can enrol.

3. I would send it by mail to the address on the form, at least I have tangible proof of delivery. not sure if you can drop it at any UKBA office..

4. I think to prove that someone is exercising their treaty rights as a worker, they will need to provide at least 3 months of payslips.
you can look at this pdf on qualified persons : https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _clean.pdf
