Hello all,
We're just about to apply for a document certifying permanent residence (EEA) and I'm a bit confused. Both me and my husband are EEA nationals and have been exercising Treaty Rights since 2007 and can prove it by evidence of employment. We've decided that my husband would be the main applicant and he would add me as a family member. Obviously he'll be providing evidence of exercising Treaty Rights for the period (or at least 6 years) but my question is - do I need to provide evidence of employment/ self- employment for that period, too, considering I'll be the family member in this application? It's very confusing - I called twice and got two completely opposite answers. They even suggested it's better to do two separate applications, which is strange considering the application form allows for a main applicant to add a family member. My husband has been employed with his company for nearly 9 years, but in my case I would need to prove a few employment and self-employment periods, which would be lots of documentation and hassle. Anyone's gone though it and have some insights to share?
Also, all questions in terms of relationship of the family member are about "relationship to the sponsor in Section 2" (i.e. are you the spouse of the sponsor in section 2), and not about relationship to the main applicant. This is also confusing as there is no Sponsor in our case; my husband is the main applicant and the one exercising Treaty Rights, etc.
Many thanks in advance!
