Moving to Netherlands

Post by SuperCharger » Sat Jan 09, 2016 12:41 pm

Dear Members,

This forum always helped people for there immigrations questions and always been a very helpful platform. I have a question regarding moving to Netherlands. I am a British Citizen, My wife is on a spouse visa and is from non EEA countries. She is living with me since 2 years in UK. My parents also belong to Non EEA country and are on a family visit on a UK visit visa. My parents are financially dependent on me and i am regularly sending money to them since more than 2 years.
My company plans to send me to Netherlands on long term assignments. Now I intend to move myself, wife and my parents to Netherlands. My question is can my parents move to Netherlands with me and live there permanently from UK or they need to go back to their home country first and apply entry clearance visa ? if its possible from here in UK, then what will be the procedure to obtain there entry visa? and also there residence cards for Netherlands? what docs to show their dependency on myself please?

i will be highly obliged if any one can share his/her thoughts on it please.

many thanks
Olie

They can move directly to Netherlands, either with or to join you;
No need to apply from home country.
Simply apply for Schengen visa.
There is no legal requirement that:
  • The non-EU family member holds a specific immigration visa or status. It is fine for them to have a nationally issued visa or a student visa or a visitor’s visa or even implied status
The family member apply in their country of origin
There is also no legal requirement that you submit:
  • bank statements
    pay slips
letters from your present or future employer or school
    letters of reference
proof that you will return at the end of the trip
    airline tickets
    confirmed hotel bookings
references or guarantees from people in the destination country

You can check on the Netherlands embassy website for the Schengen application.

You will have to get used to the Netherlands bureaucracy if contemplating living & working in Netherlands.

Clearly you will need adequate documentary evidence of financial & emotional support for some time past & relating to life in home country.

Regarding specific requirements for the Netherlands RC & similar, suggest starting with the country guide; I have posted the link as above.

Hi everyone

Many thanks for valuable information so far. I am still struggling for specific documents required for proof of dependency for my parents. my father is a retired person and is on a pension since 1998. He is getting very nominal amount as he was retired from a Govt job and he had choosen the option take 80% of the whole pension in advance back in 1998. i am sending them money every month for subsistance. my father still have pension and retirements documents which were issued to him in 1998. My father is living in a rental property and is paying rent. can anyone please advise a list of docs/evidences required for proof of dependency for a NL residence card?

If your parents are British they don't need any visa. All they need is a rental contract to register with the Gemeente and then to pay into an insurance.

The posters parents are not British. The OP is trying to use the EEA Family member route to bring his parents to live with him in Netherlands.

Dear Rooibos/CR001

thank you very much for reply. My parents are not British but from a non EEA country. they are in UK on a visit visa. For dependency purposes, I was thinking for receipts of money I had been sending to them, their income and expenses balance sheet, utility bills in their name, their pension documents, and Dr. written prescriptions for their long term medical treatments. can anyone advise if those are sufficient for the purpose or i need to add some more docs for strengthening the case please?

many thanks

There's plenty of information available to answer such a question for UK (even in 'Gov UK' website)..

You will need to find a similar information source for Netherlands, perhaps buried somewhere within a 'NL gov' type of website.

Have you been through the country guide link I posted for you previously?

Have you checked if there's a Facebook group for people doing Surinder Singh in Netherlands?
(there are such groups for other countries).
