This doesn't compute:KA941 wrote:Hi guys,
Nearly done with the form and been through the guidance but just want to confirm that my understanding of 5 year residence requirement is correct.
Do you think the 5 year residence requirement is satisfied with the below time period?
18 January 2011 to 21 January 2015 tier 1 general (approx 4 years) (present in UK this date)
22 January 2015 to 23 January 2016 ILR (approx 1 year)
Total 5 years
I was granted tier 1 general on 18 February 2010 and completed 5 years in 2015 but applied for ILR 28 days prior to leave expire by same day service. Only mentioning this as if I need to include this year too, I will have to wait until 18 February 2016?
Thanks
However as I dint have tier 1 on 23 jan 2010, I wanted to make sure that I could use 4 years (I.e. from Jan 2011) from tier 1 and 1 year from ILR to satisfy 5 year residence requirement. Hope it's more clearer this time
It is basically 6 years residence but for citizenship, only the 5 years immediately preceding the date of application is used to calculate the qualifying period.CR001 wrote:Yes, it needs to be exactly 5 years to the day and you both must have been physically present in the UK 5 years ago on the same date as you submit your application.
Sorry CR001 - I'm confusedCR001 wrote:However as I dint have tier 1 on 23 jan 2010, I wanted to make sure that I could use 4 years (I.e. from Jan 2011) from tier 1 and 1 year from ILR to satisfy 5 year residence requirement. Just wondering if someone can please help providing/clarifying following questions?
Question 1.22 - English Language requirement
I have a UK degree, but do I still need a confirmation from UK NARIC and obviously pay them? Only asking as the question is very confusing. 2 conditions have to be confirmed to satisfy language requirement stated below:
Academic qualification is deemed by UK NARIC to meet the recognised standard of bachelors/masters in UK and (sub condition below):
ii - qualification was taught in UK
The UK degree certificate will meet the English requirement.
Question 1.50 Employment history:
does a specific order need to be followed while filling the table i.e. most recent first or its a personal preference? Most recent job first and then in order going backwards
and I am currently full time employed and at the same time director of a company should I tick both boxes? Not sure
Does the current employment also need to be entered in the employment table? Yes
Many thanks
I would check No to the question 3.1KA941 wrote:Hi All,
Would someone be kind enough to help with questions from the last 2 posts (from yesterday). I have NCS appointment on 23.1.16 and want to make sure that I am fully ready before applying.
Also I have 2 PCNs (1 for parking on double yellow line and one for stopping in yellow box in a junction). If I need to disclose these, should these be disclosed under question 3.2 by saying yes? Although this asks for criminal conviction.
Also if I have to, am I correct to answer the conviction like below
Country where convicted: UK
Nature of offence: Parking on double yellow line (paid xx date)
Sentence given: NA
Date sentenced: Blank
Imprisonment: None
May be I am over thinking but want your help to be absolutely sure before applying.
Thanks in advance

Just wondering if someone can please help with following quick questions?
1) Can the same Referee (professional and British) sign mine and my spouse's application if applied at same time or different time? Yes
2) I have to provide a lot of information on page 22 (additional information) and I was thinking of typing it up. Do you think this could be a problem if the rest of the form is filled in by pen? (Just making sure and looking for some personal experience) What is so much that you have to add as additional information? This should not be necessary to 'write an essay' for your application.
thanks for the valuable advice in advance.
Thanks
KA
2) I submitted brief 'additional info' for 2 applications that was printed (printed by slipping the relevant page into printer);CR001 wrote:KA941 wrote:Hi Guys,
