confused on the online EEA application

Post by bmark » Tue Jan 19, 2016 11:14 pm

Hey all I'm a first time poster, I'm moving from Aus to the UK with my german/Australian partner and I've been looking at the online EEA application and I am completely confused by the whole thing. What parts do I fill out, for example the questions about my parents do I have to fill that out especially because my father is dead (he died 2003) so there is really nothing to fill out there, also the travel questions ie am I travelling with anyone well yeah I am travelling with my partner so do I put those details in? And employment and income and sponsor details at this point there isn't a job but my partner will have one when we arrive in the UK.
And the information about friends we do have one or two facebook friends but that's it no one we really know well.

Oh and accommodation details/current address do we put down our address here in Australia and at this stage we haven't got accommodation yet in the uk ( we will though but short term accommodation)

Thanks for your help.

What is it you are applying for? Family Permit?

You can still enter father's details. (Clearly HO may want to crosscheck & verify who you are, what family background is).

Suggest print out the paper copy & practise on that first before attempting the online version.

Yeah EEA FP.

But I don't know any details about my father as he left my mum when I was little the only thing I know is his name and date of birth, I don't know anything else about him.

and I am still unsure about the rest of it as to exactly what I fill in and what I don't fill in :?: :?:

If family members can't help with details you will have to put "not known" for what you don't know.

Read the guidance notes.
Fill in as much as possible that applies to you.

Suggest print off the paper form & have a dry run so you know what questions are coming & what you need to answer.

In the end it's up to you to submit adequate information to persuade the caseworker to issue the permit;
that gets you into UK.
