AN and MN1 applications

Post by easy » Fri Jan 22, 2016 7:45 pm

Hi All,

I am browsing through various posts on this forum which is useful. However, I look forward to check with you before I put forward my applications.

I am rushing because of proposed increased in fees which will increase the cost by 800 pounds from 6 April. Please see below the details

Myself, wife and daughter on ILR from November 15 (entered on tier 1)
My son is borned in UK and have a tier 1 visa valid till Jan 17 - as we need to travel abroad because of emergency
I have completed 6 years whilst my wife and daughter had completed 5 years in UK

Hope we all satisfies the british citizenship criterias based on above. Please advise.

I am planning to use AN forms for myself and wife and MN1 for kids.

Is this safe to apply all members together? In case of rejection, it might affect all applications and I could loose lumpsum fees

Or Can I apply for myself and get approval first before applying for family. Please advise

Thanks

Are you saying that your ILR visas were issued in November 15? If so, you need 12 months after the date of ILR before you qualify for British citizenship.

UK born child will not face a refusal. He is entitled to register.

You, wife and daughter only qualify to apply in November 2016 if you only got ILR in November 2015.

Your wife and yourself qualify separately from one another. She might get approved and you might get refused. There is no concept of 'British Citizenship application dependent'.

Each applicant has to meet the requirements individually. Adults applications are INDEPENDENT of the spouse. Children born abroad would need both parents naturalising or one naturalising and one on ILR.

Hi Casa / CR001,

Our ILRs were issued in November 14. Its my typo error. Sorry for pain

We have completed a year to become eligible for BC.

Although the adults applications would be weighed independently, is this advisable to apply together or not?

Please advise if anyone has similar previous experience.

Thanks

It makes no difference whether you apply together or not, they are not dependent on each other and each will be assessed on its own against the requirements.

There is no advantage to applying together, the joint spouse application reduced fee was withdrawn a couple of years ago and that was the only advantage. Each person applying has to meet the requirements on their own.
