extending Spouse Visa + 1 child = advise

Post by Bucki » Wed Jan 27, 2016 12:22 pm

Hi Guys

just trying to prepare myself.
my wife arrived in UK on spouse visa Nov 2015 and I guess the visa extension will be in 2018.

I was on 24k a year but moved closer to my family and now on 22k a year.
Recently found out that wife is pregnant and even tho I was happy, I got worried too.

It is all down to the financial requirement.
From what I read, to extend the visa with a child = £22.400 a year.

seeing that I am £400 per year, less.
What else can I do, to overcome this issue ??

Second job ?? if so, are there any specific requirements?
Minimum 1 year job or what exactly ...

Also, after 5 years staying in UK, when applying for ILR (passing UK + B1 test of course)
will the financial requirement be asked again ?? or only when extending the visa.

Thanks guys

Remains @ £18,600 p.a No one can tell you what will be required in 5 years time. Rules change.

is that because when a child is born in UK, it becomes British ??
(considering one of the parent is British too).

If so, then that child is excluded from the immigration rules ... hence why Financ. Requirement remains.

great that is good :)
so, that means when filling out the FM() form for spouse visa extension ;
the child will not be included in the form??

OR probably yes stating that is british citizen.

Anyway, what is the current RULE in regards to; after the 2.5 year extension?
once 5 year is complete, the ILR form is filled + B1 & UK Test results

but for the ILR the financial requirement is not needed, right?
(at the moment, as the current rules apply)

OR probably yes stating that is british citizen. List child as the child will be a dependent but not a dependent for immigration purposes.

but for the ILR the financial requirement is not needed, right? £18,600pa still needed.
