Only a British Citizen can apply for a British Passport. You need to apply to naturalise as a Brirish Citizen first, then once you get approval, attend your ceremony to receive your certificate. Only then can you apply for a passport. You could have applied in November 2013 if you were still married. But you can apply now as you have 5 years residence, provided you meet all the standard requirements.1. when i can apply for British passport ?
The card expires, like a drivers license. Peoples features change as they get older, this is why the card needs to be updated.2. Why there is date of expiry at the back of my ILR card ?
Please see the FAQs - Common Questions about Citizenship (click). Links to the form and guidance notes are within the FAQs.3. Which kind of documents are required ?

(Passport is a separate application).
2) Because the card itself (not the 'ILR') has an expiry date;
- card needs to be updated periodically (+ photo updated; after all people change over time)
ILR only really 'expires' if you leave UK for 2 years +
3) Usual type of things: passport, BRP, LITUK, proof of English proficiency, etc.
Note There are other non-documentary requirements too: good character, sound mind, absences within limits, etc.

For what purpose?ajay wrote:DO I need to show my payslips as well when i will apply for British passport or British citizenship.
Thank you

You are referring to an outdated version of the list. You need to look at the current SELT list.ajay wrote:But i have checked in it says if you have done it ESOL level 3
You can prove your knowledge of English by having a recognised English test qualification from an approved test centre.
You need to have a certificate to prove you have the qualification, or be able to view your results online.
You can only use English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) qualifications if they’re on the list. You can’t use other qualifications, eg GCSEs, A levels or National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).

You don't appear to have understood any of the above.ajay wrote:so i don't have to any kind English test for my citizenship. On what basis or what ground i can apply for it or do i have apply through a good lawyer or solicitor?
Thank you
You can't apply without satisfying the English language requirement unless you qualify for the listed exemptions. Using a solicitor will add no weight to your application at all and unless you are incapable of filling in the form yourself, will be a huge waste of money.ajay wrote:so i don't have to any kind English test for my citizenship. Read what others have advised. Which ever way you look at it, you have no choice but to do an English test from the current SELT list and it must be taken from an approved test cente. The SELT list has all the details.ajay wrote:so i don't have to any kind English test for my citizenship.
