Director not employed by the company

Hello Guys,

I am on Tier 1 Entrepreneur 50K right now and I am going to apply for extension in about 1 year (my visa expires on April 2017).

I am currently employ 3 people ( I just need 1 worker for extension) and almost invested the whole amount.

However, there is 1 thing which makes me nervous.
Despite being the director and owner of the company I am not employed by the company which basically means
I am not receiving any dividends or salary so there are always zeros in my self assessment.

Once I switched to the Tier 1 VISA I decided not to employ myself and to pay salary, because I think they might consider my salary as I way I am returning my investments back.

Anyway, I am not employed by the company.

Am I on the safe side with this situation ?

Your are legally an employee of your own company but in your case, simply not on the company payroll. You are not forced to pay yourself anything ! You are fine
