Moving to Germany from UK: EU parents American children

Hello,

My wife and I are newly naturalised UK citizens. We also have a child, who has American only citizenship.

We want to move to Germany from UK now. Do we need to obtain a UK citizenship for our child before she can join us in Germany? We want to put her in German state schools or kindergarten.

I will be grateful for any info.

Not necessary, she has the right to live there as a member of your family under EEA Regulations. This link with information on applying for a family permit in Germany should help you with the procedure.
