Pros of using lawyers for UKF app, cons of not using them?

I am curious to know the potential pros and cons of filing a UKF application through immigration lawyers and pros/cons of not doing so.

I wonder how many have used lawyers to submit their UKF applications and whether they recommend this route?

I appreciate that using lawyers will cost quite a bit more than applying directly but for someone who is unsure about the process and is worried about screwing it up, they may enjoy peace of mind.

I am planning to contact company name removed by moderator about the UKF application.

Using a solicitor will have no bearing on the outcome of your application at all. The only thing you will have, is a lot less money, for what is potentially just a cost for completing a form.

For an application that only costs £80 and requires original documents for your and through who you are claiming, it is not a difficult app to make.

Of course, we offer our advice free of charge on the forum and many forum users have submitted their applications on their own with no problems.

Spend a couple of weeks reading through this forum, you will soon realise that you don't need the help of a solicitor unless your situation involves exceptionally complex circumstances.

As CR001 says you'll just be a lot poorer afterwards, no doubt you'll end up paying £500 for them to help you complete an £80 application which is actually very simple.

I appreciate what you are saying and I am well aware of the fact that the process should be straightforward and that lawyers cost a fair amount of money.

Patently, if an applicant lacks confidence or, worse, can't be sure they can fill in the form properly and provide the needed supporting paperwork, using a solicitor with the relevant experience to make sure everything is done correctly will almost certainly have a bearing on the outcome.

Has anyone here made mistakes with their initial application, had it returned, and then been successful after correcting their mistakes?

Using a solicitor has no bearing on the outcome of your application, you either qualify with supporting documents or you don't. The guidance notes and members experience on this website is very clear on what to do. Only you will know your family circumstances and have the required supporting documents (which if UK docs, are very easy to get). Your entire claim on UKM is based on your supporting documents. It is one of the easiest applications to make. When I did my mom's, I found the form very easy to follow and complete. Have you read through the guidance notes and form? What particularly are you concerned about?
