I want your expert opinion .If someone applies for citizenship and put three Irish referees and the three of them were naturalised and neither of them is Irish born ,or Irish origin, will that affect the application ?
It's always better to make Irish born citizens as referees. But I don't think it would be any problem though.
Thanks KingdomMan!

You're very correct! Above all, to know you've been of good character and to establish that you meet the conditions for the grant of naturalisation certificate
Thanks kingdom!!! Hope i can pm you now. Just need to ask something.

Stage 1 : Initial stage (Citizenship Application Requirements Checks)

Stage 2 : Second Stage / Further Processing (Criminal Check, backgrounds, Revenue, etc)

Stage 3 : Advanced Stage (Application in queue for decision)

Stage 4 : Final Stage (Decision has being made but no ceremony invitation yet)

Note: Stage 2 and 3 can be Further Processed if further documents are needed or in complex cases.

Found this info in the previous thread "naturalisation questions"
By: Integrated(hopefully i got his name right)

This info might be useful for some people to know exactly where they are with their application.

Applied 8th Oct 2015
First letter of receipt: 15th Oct 2015
Second stage: still pending

I notice that a lot of people with similar dates have received a second stage letter which has me concerned with my application. When I last emailed, they said the following:
Hi,

Your application is currently being processed with a view to establishing
whether it meets the statutory conditions for the granting of
naturalisation, such as good character and lawful residence, and will be
submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible.

It is recognised that all applicants for citizenship would wish to have a
decision on their application without delay. While most cases are now
generally processed within six months, the nature of the naturalisation
process is such that, for a broad range of reasons, some cases will take
longer than others to process. In some instances, completing the necessary
checks can take a considerable period of time. It is not possible,
therefore to provide you with a more definite answer.

Regards
Niall O'Callaghan
Citizenship Division
Is this normal or does it mean I will be waiting a considerable amount of time?
From peoples experience, will I still make the 6 month period?

Thanks in advance,
Barring any complexity with your application, you are still likely to get your approval within the six month waiting time. Best of luck!
Recieved the final letter on Friday.

Application submitted: 8th October 2015
1st letter of acknowledgement - 15th October 2015
Approval letter 5th of Feb 2016

No second stage letter needed.

If we send the fees etc will we make the April ceremony?

Thanks in advance!

Congrats! You will definitely be invited to the 15th of April ceremony if you pay the fee as soon as you can.

fyi - PMs disappear from your Outbox when the recipient picks them up.

Actually, due to the delay in your response, pixie12 may no longer be able to read your message as the Board Adminstrator has recently increased the PM activation to 30 posts for all members.
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Well with current board settings you do need 30 posts before sending messages (successfully).

Checking if you've been a good character in the state. Maybe checking your records from the gardai and other depts.

By the way, if you've passed the first stage? Does it mean you already satisfy the residency requirements? I know you have to check it in the inis residency calculator. Just wondering if the residency calculator is 100% accurate also.

Registered post is absolutely safe. You can use a bubble envelope for peace of mind.
