EEA permanent residence - absence from UK

Hi all, I intend to apply for a document certifying permanent residency for myself and my child in January 2017. I know the 5 year residency requirement and also, that in those 5 years you can't be absent from the UK for more than 6 months in any year.

How about the year prior to the application - in this case 2017 - is there any condition for PR (like the one that they have for citizenship, no more than 90 days abroad in the year prior to applying)? I'm not worried for myself, but my child spends 6 weeks each summer abroad (basically the school summer break) so just want to make sure there are no issues.

For minors who are registering as citizens the adult naturalisation rules on absences (90 days in last 12 months, etc) don't apply.
