Hi all,
So my plan is to move to Malta.
Now the main concern I have is in relation to the timing of receiving a residence card. With the whole refugee crisis in Europe at the moment is this making the issuing of residence cards much longer for those taking the EEA route?
Because if I go to Malta to work and live with my non EU husband what are his rights in relation to working? I mean in reality how many jobs are going to hire him without the residence card? I have been told legally he doesn't need it but I am worried about the practicalities. It would be hard living in Malta if it is just myself working. The Maltese immigration office said he would get an acknowledgement letter kind of thing after he submits his application. But would a job hire him with this?
