You can pay using your GBP debit card.

You would always pay a bit more than £600, even if it showed in GBP as UKVI uses the upper limit of the exchange rate. Most members who pay from the UK end up paying between 50 and 70 pounds more due to exchange rate fluctuations.

I have not had to use or pay IHS and am therefore not registered for the service to log in, so don't know if GBP option is available

Hi,

IHS fee is paid in Pakastani rupee; not sure why but there is no option to pay by GBP.

When I submitted my application I paid with a UK debit card and they then charge you for the currency conversion non-uk transaction fee etc.

Hope this helps.

edit: and from your other thread - I paid in total £650 for the IHS after conversion and an addition £18 to the bank.

hi thank you for replying.. im going mad here lol this visa application etc is sooo stressfull..

does that mean i need to pay the £956 application fee in pakistani rupees too or is there a option to pay in GBP? & its weird but the solicitors quote a fixed fee of £600 for health charge i wonder if i would need to pay on top if i go through solicitors?

The VISA fee was also in rupees; after conversion it was £1035 and then an additional £30 for conversion fees etc.

I'm not sure about the solicitor but if they do it online like everyone else - then I'm sure they will charge you the extra.

thats stupid.. there should be a GBP payment option.. the £956 application fee & £600 IHS is false really then because it depends on exchange rate then, your paying more.

your total was still ok my total is coming up to £1086 for application fee and £681 for IHS.. thats like over £200 on top

The applicant in case of the spouse visa is your spouse, not you, and as your spouse is in Pakistan, all payments are due in PKR.

This is very common. You can pay in rupees and also by the UK debit card. But here is bonus plus point. It seems nice if ur sponsor pays for ur application and IHS payment through their card. It shows financial help towards main applicant and care. Sign of close relationship.

If you want to pay in PK u must have PK debit card or credit card and even at the gerrys they do it for u (Which i strongly recommend not to rely on gerry as their public computers are dead slow n internet connection cant even open google.com, slowest internet connection available in pakistan. But if u pay through Uk debit card u have to pay extra for exchange rates n bank rates.

Thanks
