Marrying a Cambodian Citizen in Singapore

Hey Guys,

First time poster but I've been lurking a while.

I'm British and my fiancee is a Cambodian Citizen, and I'm trying find the simplest option for us to get married. Getting married in the UK or Cambodia seems to be a long drawn out process with so much paperwork.

It appears that it's a lot easier for foreigners to get married in Singapore. For first time married couples, they don't need a Certificate of No Impediment (a real headache trying to get it from the MoI in Cambodia). It'll also be officially recognized in the UK.

However, my Cambodian fiancee says that the marriage won't be recognized in her country and that she wouldn't be able to register it.

Is this true? And how important is this in the grand scheme of things when I apply for her Settlement Visa to come to the UK?

Sorry, my mistake. I meant we want to apply for a Spouse Visa after getting married in Singapore.

My concern is if we get married there, will the Cambodian government not recognize this in my fiancee's home country and will it cause a problem for when we apply for a Spouse Visa?

I shouldn't think so, but need to make sure...

No she doesn't, and from my understanding she doesn't need to.
