Waiting time for Naturalisation Application

Post by yaargade » Tue Mar 01, 2016 11:28 am

Hi all,

I just applied for my citizenship and passport through a local NCS in London. The agent who went through my papers told me that the Home Office would most likely debit my account the day after my appointment which was on 23 February. It has been a week now and there is no sign of my account being debited.

My friends who applied last December and last summer, respectively, had their accounts debited within a week of applying through NCS and received a request in the post for biometrics within ten days.

Does anyone else have any recent (within the last few weeks) anecdotal information for how long it takes the Home Office to debit accounts and send the acknowledgment letter out? The agent said the maximum waiting time would be 8 weeks, and the average time is 3-4 weeks.

Thank you for any help/advice/shared experience on this matter!

Fee debit on the day after application sounds very unrealistic
One week wait time for the fee to be taken from your bank account is very common.

Please check the February Timelines.
