Help needed Spouse Visa

Post by laroc » Tue Sep 25, 2007 2:54 pm

I am a british citizen married to a Moroccan and we've just applied to the embassy in Rabat for his settlement visa. He has an interview apointment for 14 November.

I am in receipt of Incapacity Benefit (long term) which I understand is not a public fund. I also have 1 son whom I claim Child Tax Credits for and Child benefit. I am also in recept of Housing and Council Tax benefit. I do not have much savings only about £3,000 and my Husband who works very hard but with little pay doesn't have any savings. There is a job offer waiting for him here when he does get his visa which he also showed to the Embassy.

I have read that as a British Citizen I am allowed to claim public funds but obviously my Husband would not. And anyway once he gets here and starts his job I would notify the council and Inland Revenue of these changes.

We miss each other so much and are both very worried about whether or not he will get his settlement visa. Will it make a difference to him getting the visa with me claiming public funds?

I would appreciate any answers. Thank you.

No, it shouldn't be a problem.

dear laroc ,

thank u very much for ur reply. iam sad for ur refusal .but i hope next step will be successful . i heard that if u go to appeal against in the court will take up to a year of waiting , so i think it is preferable to reapply ur spousal visa because wil take short time and u will be able to correct mistakes done and provide extra evidences(this is my my point of view )

pls ,was the refusal paper include only 2 reasons of refusal or any others.
iam looking forward to help each others , it is really like nightmare that embassy i was refused student visa in the past.

wish u good luck from my heart .

regrads
