British Protected Persons (BPPs) were not British subjects, CUKCs (Citizens of the UK and Colonies) or British citizens. BPP status was also lost on acquisition, voluntary or otherwise, of another nationality. So, I doubt if you would have acquired any claim through your ancestors working or living in a British protectorate.

Check your grandfather's and great-grandfather's British passports to see if they were issued to them as BPPs or if they registered as CUKCs. If the latter, that changes the situation considerably.

Also see similar case and revert with any further questions.

Both my Great Grandfather and Grandfather were Citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies. My grandfather is alive and is willing to provide all necessary details. I have attached both their passport pictures. My great grandfather's Passport No is 6413 while the other one belongs to my grandfather. Please advise on the next step.I highly appreciate your help.

When and where was your father born? And is there documentary proof of your grandparents being married at the time of his birth?

My father was born in 1970, Kenya. As for marriage... both my Grandfather band Great grandfather were married and their respective wives names were included in the British passport. I will look for more information on their marriage life by tomorrow.I was born in 1996, Kenya.
