British Passport Interview

Post by Macro_Run » Fri Feb 26, 2016 12:56 pm

Hello All,

I applied a British passport after the Naturalisation. I received my documents from passport office yesterday.
Will it be an interview compulsory for everyone who applied first adult passport? or will it be random interviews? Please share your experience kindly.

If you DID NOT use the joint pilot (form AN & PP) scheme, you will have to attend an interview, it is compulsory for a first adult passport.

See link below with passport interview questions members have had.

You are welcome. Interview is a breeze, about 10 minutes long and they ask questions that only you should know.

An English guy I work with managed to fail his interview. He knew too little about his mother's relatives. Questions about grandparents might also be difficult if they had to be researched for the application.

I had passport interview this morning. It may be many familiar questions, however I share my experience.
It started with some casual conversation.

1. Where are you coming from?
2. How did come here?
3. What are railway stations on the way (not underground stations)
4. How long did it take to reach here?
5. What will you do after finishing this interview.
6. Some chat about my home country cities.

My personal & work related questions

1. Where do you live & where do you work?
2. What is full name with spell?
3. What is your date of birth?
4. When did you start work here in UK?
5. What is your employer?
6. What is nature of work?
7. What name of your Bank?
8. How did you apply the passport & how did you for it?
9. What documents you sent with application ? Did you receive it or not?
10. What was 5 years residence status before getting ILR.
11. When did you get ILR?
12. When did you Naturalisation?
13. About your ceremony?
14. Current address & previous address?
15. Why do you live this town?
16. Do you pay any bills from your account (e.g Sky, council....etc)
17. How do you go for work ( means car, bus, walk,..... like that)
18. Who signed in your photo & what he is doing now?
19. Did you have any difficulties while filling application.
20. Who lives with you?
21. When is your next visit to your home country?
22. I signed in a signature box on a paper, but not an electronic pad.

I was told that the passport will reach you within six days at end of interview. He told me that no need an exit sign and you may leave now freely.

Passport interview is random. I received my passport (first time adult) today without any interview. I am very surprised as I was sure that there would be an interview. I applied online on 20/07/2017 and the supporting documents received by passport office on 01.08.2017. Then 07.08.2017 the online status showed - passport dispatched. I have received it today (15.08.2017)(bit delays as I missed previous dx delivery last week).

Beat me to it as I was about to say the same thing, myself and at least one other on this forum received our passports without an interview, mine arrived on Friday, I thought it was a mistake but on enquiring was informed by the passport office that it was correctly issued. No NCS or check and send involved.
Seems to be a new policy.

Sorry for my question. But do you still need to get your countersignatory for your passport application

Kindly post in your own topic rather than one from 2016. If you have not apply for the joint citizenship and passport scheme through NCS and are only now applying for your passport after your ceremony, then yes, you need a countersignatory for the passport application.
