Extension of British spousal dependent

Hi,

I have a dependent visa based on my wife who is a british citizen. I am already residing in the UK entered in 2014 beginning and have an extension "in August 2016. I have learned that there is an ongoing case in supreme court regarding the threshold income of £18600.00 to require from the main applicant. Has anybody got any update on the verdict yet?

Do threshold income applicable for an extension on British spousal dependent category? We have a one child who is british by birth, does it require to show an additional income threshold?"

Yes, the threshold is still applicable and in your circumstances, it is £18,600pa that you and/or your spouse have to meet. British child is NOT included in the financial requirement.

The case was only heard on 22nd to 24th February. Given the recent judgement delivery of the Court, I would expect a judgement in the case by October this year.

Its a great relief to know both the partners can contribute towards making £18600.00 per annum.

My assumption was "Only the sponsor(My wife -in this case) has to show up income threshold and my income cannot be considered in meeting requirements" but thanks to prove me wrong
