Passport Application with Naturalisation application

Hi All,

On Naturalisation application processing timelines (only) board I found that many people have applied for passport same time as their Naturalisation application. I am not sure how can I apply for passport before approval of citizenship.

If we can apply for passport same time as Naturalisation then how it works? Do they hold they passport and wait for decision of Naturalisation application?

You submit both applications to the NCS offices that are part of the project. Only some councils are offering the joint application scheme.

Assuming of course that you hold ILR and meet ALL the standard requirements.

Yes, I am ILR and meets all the requirements. In fact I have already applied for Naturalisation. I went through NCS but it seems like my council does not offer this joint application scheme. As no one mentioned anything to me.

As I said, only certain councils were included in the roll out and even now, not all do it.

You will have to wait till after your ceremony to apply for a passport.
