Visitor Visa for Parents - On Friends invitation letter

Hi,

I am planning for my parents to come in May to UK from India. For their Tourist visa processing I believe I need to provide an invitation letter with the details of my current visa as they will be staying with me.
However, my current visa is due for expiry on 29th March and I have applied for visa extention which is still in process and might take few more weeks.

So in order to process the visa application for my parents can I ask my friend to provide an invitation letter to them.

In the visa application for my parents in the 'Address of stay in UK' can I choose 'Staying with Friend' instead of 'Family' and provide my friends address.

Is there any verification by the home office to check that my parents son i.e. me is staying in UK, and they are still staying with someone else. WIll it create any problem in the visa processing?

I am currently on Tier 2 ICT - Long term staff migrant visa. My visa extention request has been submitted and biometric was done on the 10th of March.

My current visa is due for expiry 29th March 2016.
