Are Marriage Visitor Visas exempt from English Language Req?

Post by Jon.Mason » Sun Mar 20, 2016 9:48 pm

I am filling in a Marriage Visitor Visa and it has a section for English language. It asks if she is exempt. I cannot find any evidence to suggest we need proof of her language skills for this visa. Is it a requirement? I am looking for her to just come to the UK for 6 months and do a marriage with me and then return home initially. We will live together off of just my wages.

No language test or NHS surcharge, but she should ensure she has adequate private medical insurance to cover her during the stay.
