They are exactly what is says on the tin.

SOC set out in codes of practise for the generic job codes. Breaking them down to NQF level and then setting out salary requirements to meet starting and experienced rates.

The shortage occupation list sets out the SOC's from the codes of practise that qualify for essentially exemption from NQF level 6 requirement and / or RLMT requirements.
