Initial HSMP visa now 6 months?

Initial HSMP visa now 6 months?

A friend of mine got entry clearance to come to the UK on HSMP, he was given an initial 6 months visa, that this is the new rule, can someone confirm this and why this change. The visa was issued in Nigeria.

Thats must be a mistake by visa officer. Your friend should contact British Embassy/Consulate as early as possible to make it clear that he/she applied under HSMP. 6 months visa is only a visitor visa and is without picture while HSMP visa comprises of 1 year and sticker is with picture of applicant. (as far as i know about my country)

it's a mistake. also happened to me last month. contact embassy immediately. my ec got corrected and i was issued a new ec stamp in 2 days. just tell them it's urgent.
