I'm just wondering, given that there is a lot of conflicting information online, in what format are you receiving your PR cards now?

My husband was issued his in his passport (in oct 2014)

We would like to get a BRP card so that his visa isn't tied to his passport (as he will renew his passport soon), but i'm not sure if we can?

Is anyone applying via the EEA4 route receiving BRP cards now?

"BRP" is biometric residence permit. It's how UK visas longer than 6 months are now issued. It is a biometric card which looks similar to a driving licence.

EEA citizens applying for permanent residence documentation under the EEA regulations will receive a visa-style vignette stuck on a piece of card.

Non-EEA citizens applying for permanent residence documentation as family members of an EEA citizen under the EEA regulations will now receive a biometric card.

A BRP and a PR card look significantly different.
