How long to PR ??

Post by Garth1989 » Fri Apr 15, 2016 9:55 pm

Hi everyone

I was hoping someone could provide me with an answer on how long I have to wait to get PR.
I entered the UK on Jan 22 2015 on a EEA family permit visa as Dependent child over 21 years of age. I recently received my Residence permit at the beginning of April this year.

The question is, can I apply 5 years after I first entered the UK i.e Jan 2020 or does it have to be 5 years from when I received my RP i.e April 2021 ?.

Iv heard rumours that you may be able to apply a bit earlier if you apply at the same time as your EEA national sponsor. My sponsor (parent) will be eligible for PR in March 2019. is there any truth in these rumours ?.

Thanks.

As long as sponsor is still a qualified person (or has PR) then you will acquire PR after 5 years residence.
