Urgent - VAF2 form Queries

I am currently in Singapore and am planning to apply for EC along with my family dependents (wife and 2 kids) in Jan-08. Then I want to go to UK alone and get them there after 3-4 months, after I get a suitable job and my own accommodation. I am arranging for an accommodation letter from a friend. I want to apply for them along with me because I have come across instances of visa rejections otherwise.


I need your help to answer the following questions along with those in VAF2 form...(the figures are question numbers in VAF2 form)

Can I apply for my family along with my application even though they will join me later?


4.5 Will your spouse be travelling with you?

4.10 Please list any of your children who will be travelling with you to the UK

4.25 Full details of parents or guardians in your home country (for children's application).
As my children's parents (myself and my wife) are here in Singapore (not in home country - India), what to give here?

4.29 Please provide the address and telephone number of where you will stay in the UK
This question falls under a group to be filled for applicants below 18 years. However this question should be applicable to all applicants. What should be my answer for my dependents, as I don't have any accommodation arranged for them currently?

5.1 Details of travel outside country of residence, including UK in last 10 years
- What is my country of residence considering I am in Singapore now?
- in guidance note its asked to provide details only about UK, so is other travel not reqd?

6.3.16 to 6.3.20 These are queries to be aswered for dependents related to Sponsor's Job. What should I give when I have not yet got a job in UK?

6.4.13 How much of monthly income is given to family members/dependents
Does this question include spouse and children. What does it mean, we spend the money as acrued, what about GIVING it?

>> Yes; does not matter if she would be travelling with later than you.

>> list all your children here

>> if you have are going to stay with friends/relation give their address along with accomodation proof; if not book a hotel room for about 2+ weeks and give the address of the hotel along with phone number and proof of reservation

>> you children should list your details ie your current job; it does not say the job in UK in particular

>> any other financial commitment you have; you can nil here and that is what I did.
