Sponsoring Using Student Finance

I earned just under £17,000 for the last tax year. I am also a full time undergraduate and receive student finance. Can the student finance be taken into account when calculating the £18,600 minimum financial threshold for sponsoring my non-EEU husband to join me in the UK??

Student finance or student loan or student grants?

Student loan from the student finance England.

I am not sure that any loan counts as income.

Student loan from the student finance England.

If you live in Scotland, and get grant, or you live in other region where you get a for of grant or stipend toward your studies, that will be counted as non-employment income.

Student loan is excluded.

I receive the following from Student Finance England:
Tuition Fee Loan
Maintenance loan
Childcare grant
Parent's learning allowance

This cannot be used as "income".

Child care grant and parent learning allowance may be used as non employment income, but the first 2 may not as they are loans which have to be repaid rather than income, grant or stipend.
