Knowledge of English Language

Post by deebs » Mon Apr 25, 2016 7:31 pm

Reading through posts in this forum and also the new version (April 2016) of application form for settlement (SET O) I understand, Medium of Instruction (MoI) letter is required to be submitted along with degree convocation certificate and consolidated statement of marks (transcripts) to NARIC to validate for T1 General to ILR applicants who graduated outside UK even though degree certificate was provided along with T1 application and extension.

I am finding it difficult to coordinate with the university for my MoI letter and was thinking about opting for Trinity’s GESE Grade 5 exam = CEFR B1 (link http://www.trinitycollege.com/site/?id=3220).

Will this suffice for Knowledge of English Language?

Any comments would be much appreciated.

Please refer to the list of approved tests. If the above mentioned test is listed, then yes you make choose to take this test to fulfill the English language requirements.

You will also need to take the LITUK exam, if not done so already.

Thank you.

I did the LIUK tests couple of years ago and unlike LIUK tests the Knowledge of English Language tests does not require much preparation and that was a pleasant surprise :)

Thanks again

Hi Deebs,

How soon did you get your results? I have my test of ielts life skills on 30th October and was wondering if I should wait for the official results which takes a week and then go for the application or is the SELT unique reference number in the form enough. Also, I hope the exam is just a formality with basic English communication and listening.
