Hi,
Bit late now as I just passed my Life in the UK test but on the application for LITUK you have to put your town of birth, which ends up on your citizenship certificate.
Switzerland doesn't use birth certificates and doesn't put birthplace on passports either, instead they use "Place of Origin" which is your father's home town, regardless of whether you have ever been there.
But for the sake of accuracy (and also because it's for British citizenship and in Britain we go by where you are actually born) I put the town where I was born, e.g. where the hospital was located. They accepted this at the test centre when I pointed out that birthplace is not actually included in the Swiss passport, but now I am worried that I'll have trouble with the Form AN because the only proof I have of my birthplace is my birth notice that my parents kept, which they wrote themselves. (Although it is very easy to check the location of the hospital as it's still in existence today)
Out of curiosity, any other Swiss applicants had to deal with this? Did you use your accurate place of birth or your "Heimatsort" (place of origin)?
