Please Help - Application for extention of spouse visa

Post by Zeeash » Sun May 15, 2016 11:39 am

So to give a background ...
I entered UK as spouse in March 2014 and as per new regulation i need to apply for visa extention before Nov 2016. My husband holds british passport .I have few questions , kindly help

1. I would like to apply for the extention in person July 2016 although my visa is valid till Nov 2016. Can I apply so early and if yes will my next visa would be from my expiry date till completion of 5 years.

2. I got married in feb 2014 and entered this country in march 2014. In august i was dignosed of cancer and going through treatment. I was never sent any bill for treatment . Will this effect my application ? I have not claimed any benifits and i am working too.

Looking forward to hear from some generous members in the group.

Thanks in anticipation.

Kind regards
Zee

If you apply earlier than the 28 days before your 2.5 year anniversary of the date you entered on your spouse visa, you will fall short when if comes time to complete your 5 year period for ILR. This would require an additional FLR(M) extension to fill the gap.

You will have been covered for NHS treatment but under current rules you will be required to pay the £500 NHS surcharge when you apply for your FLR(M) extension.

Hello

I am back again with a question ...

I have filled the medical exemption form and have this card which helps me to get prescribed medicines without charges . So is this exceptable or this can lead to any issues while i submit my application for extention of spouse visa

And secondly they look for address proof for two years , really confused that do i need to submit documents for whole 2 years and 6 items for each me and my husband for the entire 2 years.

Thanks

You're required to submit 6 separate pieces of evidence in joint names, spread as evenly as possible over the full 2 year period. These should be from at least 3 difference sources. The general rule of thumb would be a document every 4 months or so, in order avoid gaps.
If you don't have 6 in joint names, you need to submit 12 in single names. Anything with name and address/post code will be acceptable, but utility bills, council tax, medical letters, GP registration, any official correspondence would be ideal.

Thanks
The A2 level English test for FLR(M) will be introduced later this year, so depending on when you decide to submit your application, check whether this is relevant to you.

You're welcome. Come back with any other questions that may come up before you submit your application.
