PR still viable with registration certificate but not CSI?

Post by claudaameliat » Fri May 20, 2016 3:14 pm

Hi everyone,

As many of you, I am starting to think about what happen in case of Brexit and would really appreciate some advice.

I am a Romanian citizen, have been living in the UK for almost 6 years now. First two I was an au pair/ worked, got my registration certificate (which only attests that I have no restrictions on employment - Blue Card) in April 2012, then started studying full time in September 2012. I am still completing a master's degree as we speak.

Now, I have read extensively from this website and gathered that I will be rejected when applying for Permanent Residency as I did not have CSI (if only I'd known :( ). Does anyone know if the registration certificate makes would make any difference to my application i.e. would I not need to submit evidence of CSI?

Thanks so much!

Thanks so much!

Only if the registration certificate was issued to you as a student in/before 2011.

Another option: Check if any Romanian healthcare provider/system covered you for your student years, or whether you had a non-UK EHIC which could cover you.
All information given is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Some Romanian members have reported success with Yellow/Blue cards.
Search forum for their stories as reported here.

(It's not always clear on what basis those members' Yellow/Blue cards were issued).

The general rule about RCs issued to students and valid for the transitional arrangement still stands.
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.
