Urgent!! HSMP renewal

Dear All,

one of my friend got HSMP Last year and he was in UK only for 20 days. Now his HSMP is going to expire and he wants to get the renewal.

In this scenario I have following questions:

1) can he send the passport to me in UK and I can send it to home office for renewal or is it mendatory that a person has to be in UK for HSMP renewal.
2) can he directly send the passport to homeoffice from India only.
3) how much is the possibilities that his HSMP will be renewed considering he was only 20 days in UK.

I would appriciate an urgent response.

1/2. No - the Home Office can only deal with applications from somebody physically present in the UK. Note that 1 is a serious breach in respect of the Immigration Rules on the grounds of misrepresentation as a minimum.

3. Nil - he/she has not met the requirements of the HSMP scheme particularly pertaining to economic activity including making the UK a primary home. He/she may wish to consider re-applying for the HSMP subject to deciding whether to adhere to its conditions - otherwise its a waste of money and time yet again.

Sorry to say, but i see hardly any chances of your friend to get HSMP renewal as he/she has not satisfied the minimum condition to make UK as his/her permanent residence.
