Driving criminal record

Post by khaledeng » Mon Jun 13, 2016 11:01 pm

Hi All,

I am summoned to court end of June because I mistakenly drove the wrong way in a one-way road but caused no harm to anyone. By law, I could get between 3 to 9 points penalty.

I booked my naturalisation application appointment on the 14th July. I have some questions to ask and would appreciate any help:

1. Will this go in my criminal record ?
2. Is it serious ? Could they refuse my application because of this ?
3. If I can adjourn the court hearing till after my appointment, will that help ? could I not declare it in the application in that case ?

Thank you very much.

1) Yes, if convicted.
In the words of Garrow: You are innocent until proven guilty.

2) Yes. Yes.

3) Don't go there.
A pending prosecution has to be declared even if you manage to delay your day in court. (And despite what Garrow says).
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.

I understand you've already been approved. Then why should this matter?

Where has khaledeng said their BC application has been approved? :?
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

@noajthan, thank you for your reply.

@1kiril, I wish it was approved, but it's not yet :)
