Yes, you can but it will only be valid for as long as your visa is valid and then you will have to pay fees and IHS again to renew/extend it.

There is no language requirement for the Tier 2 dependent application.

Guys,

I need your advice again,

I applied for my wife’s Tier 2 G dependant visa last month, I am hopeful that she will get the visa which will be valid till First week of December 2016 (as I mentioned in my previous posts).

In the meanwhile I manage to change my visa last week from Tier2 G to Tier 4 student, My Tier 2 General extension was refused so I had to change to another category to stay in the country.

Now the question is, If my wife gets the dependant visa then can she travel on that visa to UK even if I (main applicant) have a Tier4 visa now? or do I have to apply again under Tier 4 ?

I am planning to go back home next month on holidays and come back in mid Nov, I was planning to bring her with me and apply for Tier4 dependant visa from UK for her through a premium service.
I know it’s complicated but I would be great if you can help.

Cheers

Your wife will be refused a tier 2 dependent visa if you are not a tier 2 visa holder. Suggest you apply for her Tier 4 dependent visa before you travel back.

Just an update guys,

My wife received visa today. We applied for her visa in mid of August when I was on Tier 2 and after a month she received visa.

Meanwhile I applied for visa change from Tier 2 to Tier 4 in mid of Sept 2016 through Premium service and its successful.

Now question is that can I bring my wife to UK on the Tier 2 Dependant visa which is valid till first week of December 2016 while I myself being on the Tier4 visa now?

also, for you to change your wife visa to student dependent , it will depend on what your institution is.. as not all students are allowed to hvae dependents.

Can I bring her here on my old visa?

No you cannot. Your Tier 2 visa is already cancelled. Hence, her Tier 2 dependent visa is also invalid. She would not be allowed entry into UK on her dependent visa. She will have to now apply for a T4 dependent visa to enter UK.

Guys,

Just an update,

When I applied for my wife's dependent visa I was on Tier 2, as soon as she got the Tier 2 dependent visa I had my visa switched to Tier 4, so I was confused that if I can bring her on Tier 2 dependent visa or do I have to apply for her visa gain before traveling. Anyway story short. She got the visa in second week of September 2016 and second week of sept 2016 I got my Tier 4 visa.

I went back to my country to get my wife and we both traveled to UK in second week of Nov 2016.
She was on my old Tier 2 dependent visa and I was on Tier 4 visa at that time.

We landed at the Edinburgh airport and passed the immigration without any problem.

After coming to UK I applied to switch my wifes visa from Tier 2 Dependant to Tier 4 dependant in Last week of Nov 2016.

Application was successful and now we are both in UK and we are both on Tier 4/ dependant visa.

I though I should share my won experience so this information may help other users stuck in similar situation.

Cheers
