Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me on this as I am struggling to gather enough information that will help me decide whether I should apply for PR or not at this stage.
I came in UK in 2007 registered as STUDENT on 1 year course and got my student registration card (yellow).
I took a part time job during this time and when my course finished I switched to full time and worked for another 4-6 months before I applied for WORKER REGISTRATION CARD. Sadly I was refused by HO saying that I worked as full time and not part time for the whole period, the company I worked for went out of business and I had no way of getting my situation sorted.

Later on in 2009 I did some skilled courses and started my own business as self employed.
I registered with HMRC as self employed in Jan 2010 and filled my tax returns 2009/2010.
I applied to HO for SELF EMPLOYED REGISTRATION and was issued the (yellow card) in 2011.
Since my first tax return which was filled for financial year 2009/2010 I have been paying my NI and taxes.
I have been receiving child benefit for my son who was born last year in March.
I also received MATERNITY ALLOWANCE from APRIL 2013 to NOVEMBER 2013 (39 weeks).

Question : At this present time I am struggling to keep up with my expenses and have applied for HOUSING BENEFIT which has been approved but I am wondering if this will effect my application for PR application?
Am I entitled to apply for PR now or do I have to wait another year or so?
Also my husband is Non EU and will this have any effect on his PR residence once he is eligible to apply in 2016 (we have been married since 2011 but we have been together since 2007 and have a 1 year old son).
Thank you for reading this and I look forward to receiving some help as soon as possible since my housing benefit started on 29th January and I am really worried.
