Switching on Tier 2 General from one company to another

Post by sommbas » Mon Jun 27, 2016 10:18 am

Please I need help with my present situation. I am on Tier 2 General visa with my present company and I have been on it for 2years and 6months. I applied as a new entrant. I have found another role, which is an 18 months contract with another company and it pays exactly the same salary as my present company but I am willing to switch still because I have been served with redundancy letter. My question now is can I still apply as a "NEW ENTRANT" with the new role? The salary band for a senior role is quite higher than what the new role is paying so my thought is that I can still apply as a new entrant. Please advice.

Many Thanks.

No, you are not a new entrant. When you say '18 month contract', do you mean 'contracting' or working for an actual sponsor that is NOT an umbrella company.

Your new employer will have to meet the experienced salary requirement to offer you employment.
So based on the information supplied unless they up the salary you will be refused a visa.
