First child passport directly - Final check(Fast track appt)

Post by bond.boy203 » Thu Jun 16, 2016 11:05 am

Hi All,
I am applying for my daughter's British passport via one week Fast track services. She was born in UK after I (her father) obtained ILR via Tier-1 general.Below are the documents I am carrying with me and I am not carrying any photocopies of the same. I have an appointment tomorrow so would be grateful if someone could confirm this before then.

Please review and confirm if I am missing anything.

- Filled passport application form including counter signatory details
- 2 passport photos of the baby ( one signed on the back by counter signatory)
- Original passport of the father
- ILR original card of the father
- Baby's birth certificate with both parents name in it
- Marriage certificate of parents (married in 2014). This is laminated so not sure if this would be a problem.
- Appointment confirmation email

Do I need to carry mother's passport and Visa as well ?

Our situation :
Father - Indian passport with ILR obtained in 2015
Mother - Indian passport with ILR dependent visa
baby - Born in UK after father obtained ILR

Looks good. Suggest takes mothers documents with. You just never know what they might ask for.

Marriage cert not necessary if child was born after 2006 but worth taking. HMPO generally do not accept documents that are laminated as they cannot be 'verified as authentic'. This is important to note for if/when you apply for BC that you do not laminate your naturalisation certificate.

Just for completeness my daughter's passport arrived with in 3 days. They didn't ask for marriage certificate however kept both of my passport ( expired and current) including BRP card. my documents also arrived on the same day in separate post.

Its totally worth applying for 1 week fast track if you (parents) are in need of your travelling documents back asap.

Indeed superfast CR.. :-) Although a Joke from friend was that my next appointment in the near future would be to get the word "European Union" removed from the cover page.. ( How Ironic..) Thanks for the advise though..
